Matt Swindell, a 5th generation Clark County resident, is in his second term as Ridgefield City Councilman. Prior to that position he served on the school board in the Ridgefield School district. Matt has been a small businessperson in Clark County having owned a construction company for over ten years. Matt, while raising five children with his wife Leslie, now works in Clark County in the real estate development field. He serves as Little League President while remaining active in his church, his children's schools, and works with leaders in several municipalities on issues facing Clark County.
Matt's Vision
“I want the job of Clark County Commissioner because I have a vision for Clark County's future and I believe a majority of our citizens share that vision.
Clark County is at a defining moment and the decisions we make today, this year, and over the next several years will define our future. The choice is either more of the same ineffective planning and allocation of resources leading to our County being a mere suburb of Portland or we can follow another path.
I believe we should develop our Own future; crime free communities, with adequate infrastructure to permit sensible growth. We need to strengthen our schools, strengthen our county with family wage jobs, and assure enhanced economic opportunity for our businesses, property owners, and citizens.
The nation is looking at us as the potential shining star of the Northwest, our kids are looking to us for a safe future full of opportunity, and we need to look to ourselves to create that future. As Commissioner I will continue to work tirelessly to achieve those ideals.”
